The North Caldwell Public Schools encourages the growth and development of each student to his or her potential within a developmentally appropriate environment. The district's goal is to remain competitive in the quest for academic excellence. The district provides technological resources within an integrated curriculum to achieve this goal.
Students have access to a computer lab in the Mountain building, and additional labs in the media centers. Classrooms are equipped with Smartboard interactive whiteboards and desktops computers. Additional technology tools for learning include laptops, iPads and student response pads. Polycom high definition videoconferencing equipment is installed at both Gould and Grandview schools.
Our web-based licenses include Study Island for NJASK prep, Achieve3000 - an individualized reading and writing instruction and Rosetta Stone for spanish language learning.
North Caldwell School students have participated in virtual field trips through videoconferencing. Distance learning provides opportunities to enrich the curriculum, provide real world application and collaborations with classrooms around the world!
Videoconferencing in the classroom is valuable because it enhances the learning process, increases student motivation and encourages cultural diversity.
A powerful way to enhance learning, videoconferencing removes the obstacles of time, distance, physical disabilities and costs while connecting educators and students to a world of unlimited possibilities.
